You Are Appreciated
It’s Mother’s Day again. I know that just about every blog on the net is going to have something about the topic, but maybe that’s a good thing. All I know is that maybe I don’t say “I love you” enough to my mom. Maybe I don’t show how much she means to me, or how grateful I am to have her in my life. Above all, maybe I don’t think about her as much as I should. I know I act like she drives me crazy, and most of the time she does. I do love her though. I do appreciate her more than she will ever know. Without my mom, I don’t know what kind of person I would be. When you are young, you feel like she is nuissance, always keeping you back from things, but then you grow up. All you can see is how great a job she did raising you. All you can see is how she has always been there for you, always loving you. And then you realize just why this holiday exists. For all those days when we don’t seem thankful, this one day will always get you thinking about just who made you the person you are today. I didn’t get her an expensive gift today, and I didn’t overly pamper her. What I did do is think about her for most of the day. I remembered all the little things we used to do together, and all the times she helped me through bad times and supported me when things went wrong. I know I’ll never be one to express it outwardly, it’s just not me. I will give you a hint mom, look in my eyes. There will be nothing but love. Happy Mother’s Day to everyone out there, spend it wisely because the chance won’t come again for another 365 days.
