An In-Depth Look at I-Doser: Music that Alters Consciousness
As I have stated recently, there have been an incredible amount of people pouring in from Google searching for information on I-Doser. My most popular post to date gathers and incredible amount of traffic from these searchers. As best as I can gather based on keywords, these people want to know general information about the service, as well as if it is truly safe. Since these people are accounting for a huge portion of my traffic, I am going to do them a big favor. I have done my research on I-Doser, and it will be available for all you digital hippies that want to get high on sound frequencies.
First of all, what is I-Doser? I-Doser is a new online service that sells musical tracks for prices between $1-$5 per track. Each track in their library is named after a particular drug, both legal and illegal. The tracks are supposed to give the listener a similar experience to that of the the drug it is named after. These tracks range from alcohol, to marijuana, to sleep aids, to ecstacy, to crystal meth, to heroine. The site boasts itself as a legal alternative to the illicit drugs that are rampant today. This sounds very interesting, but does it work?
In order to understand I-Doser, you need to understand the concept behind the entire service. Each track produces its mental effects through the use of binaural beats. For those of you who are not familiar with binaural beats, it is a concept which states that when two different tones are played in opposite ears, a beating sensation is created in the brain. This beating sensation is the effect of the conflicting electrical signals in your brain’s wiring. Needless to say, headphones are a necessity when trying to experience binaural beats because they allow a different frequency to be played in each ear. In experiments over the last century, binaural beats have been shown to create different states of consciousness within an individual. These states of consciousness are the result of different brain waves that can be induced in a person’s psyche through the beats. If you are familiar with psychology, you know that there are four different sets of waves that are produced in our brain: Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Theta. When these brain waves are mied and matched, I-Doser threorizes that the listener experiences a drug-like high, or state of consciousness.
Now that you know the science behind it, we can look at I-Doser and its claims. I-Doser offers countless tracks of just about every drug you can imagine, each one for purchase. Just like I-Tunes, when you purchase a track, you have unlimited use of it. You can play these tracks using the player that you download from their website. If you are interested in test I-Doser for yourself, the player comes with two free tracks, one of which is supposed to simulate alcohol. It is strongly recommended that you try the sample tracks before you purchase any of the drug tracks because these do not work for everyone. I-Doser states that there are three classes of people: Susceptible to Binaural Beats, Originally Unsusceptible to Binaural Beats, and Immune to Binaural Beats. I-Doser does not offer refunds, so order wisely. The service also makes a very bold claim that I took note of. It states that drug addicts can use these tracks to supplement their drug addictions and break them. This seems like an unfounded statement to me because I can’t figure out how listening to these could possibly aid in fighting a physical addiction. In order to use I-Doser, you must go to a calm location like your bed and relax with no distractions but the music. After a while, you should drift off into another state of conscousness.
The final question is whether these drug tracks are safe. I have been getting a lot of search terms along this item. I have put considerable research into this and all the sources keep saying that using binaural beats is, in fact, very safe. Apparently the brain will slowly adjust itself back to reality when the track is done playing. Since it does not actually affect your body in any physical way, there is little to worry about. However, the one safety concern I did see was a line saying that these binaural beats had a possibility of causing epileptic seizures in some people, much as bright flashing lights can. Another concern that is not addressed is the possibility of something bad happening while you are “high”. All the same effects as the drug are replicated, so driving after using the alcohol track would be a bad idea.
Overall, I will not tell you if I-Doser works or not. That is something you will have to try for yourself. The one thing I will say is that the idea behind it is very fascinating, and the consequences could cause quite a stir. Things like DUI laws and drug testing would be obsolete to some using these beats. The future should be interesting. If you do decide to try I-Doser, please leave me a comment or an email at jnk5032@collegecritic.net with a description or review of your experience. I will post it on this website and give you credit!

Hi there! I just get the software and I’m gonna test it but…I am a little curious about what’s gonna happen in my brain, HAHA. I do like to reaserch and read a lot of things MOST of them I don’t understand, well, being english not my mother tongue it’s kind of hard to get most of the ideas. I like the article, I expect more like a “percentage research”, like “1200 people test it and…” ,but, it’s interesting tough. I don’t know why but I always think that this “products” are used for other means, not to “entertain” us. I’m not saying that it’s always the governmant or a “dark society” behind human research hehe, but I just read too much conspiracy texts and secret files on the internet hehe. Being the internet a tool available for almost everyone, why not to test people, using our own PC as laboratories, gather information….I don’t know. What if these “doses” can produce more than a “drug-like high, or state of consciousness”? just a thought…
Awesome article! This thing is scaring me to death 0_0 I really want to try. Maybe I’ll convince my friends to get it ^^ Anyway good job!
I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but this is complete, 100% bullshit. The only “effect” that this software will have on people, is the placebo effect. People THINK they are experiencing something, so their mind convinces their bodies that it’s real.
What’s my reasoning?
1. This is extremely advanced stuff. It is still in the testing phases. It wouldn’t be marketed to the public yet, not before the government gets their hands on it, labels it top secret, uses it for their own bidding, then release it a few years later.
2. I can’t remember my second point, but I assure you that it was damn good.
3. The placebo effect is incredibly powerful. If the mind truly believes something, the person will believe it; therefore inducing any symptoms mentioned in the description. They could say ecstasy causes blurry vision (which it doesn’t); and everyone who truly believes that this technology is legit (which it isn’t) will have blurry vision. It’s a program for suckers, basically.
How do I know? Of course I’ve tried it. However, because I’m a genius and figured this stuff out the moment i laid eyes on it, it didnt work for me. I told a few friends about it, told them my theory, and it didn’t work for them either. I then told someone about it, but didn’t mention my theory. They felt the effects a bit, not as much as the i-doser people claim, but a bit.
GET A LIFE all you people who use this scam shit made by con artists…you ACTUALLY THINK THIS SHIT WORKS??? lmao…all the people who can really say that they’ve had “experiences” while using this have mental problems. It’s all a SELF-INDUCED STATE OF MIND. Go look up Placebo Pill on wikipedia losers. If you fall for this shit, I’d say you deserve to be manipulated by these con artists because of your own stupidity.
Well.
I personally tried it just a bit ago.
Only tried a few tracks.
Namely the marijuana one.
It simulates the rising THC levels VERY accurately.
I also tried the ‘Love’ one which works well as it simulates the general feeling, not sure about it all.
Like the author stated, this is not a scam, it works for some, and others it doesn’t.
Placebo or not, I can confirm it worked for at least one person, myself.
I can assure you I have no mental problems as well, I am a highly intelligent person for the most part and have never been diagnosed with anything.
Also I didn’t spend a cent, and that is all I will say, no wasted money.
Ok.
I’ve been using I-Doser for about a week in a half now with pleasing results. For those who say its a placebo, I say who cares. It works. And thats what matters to me.
In my opinion its about 50 50 when it comes to affects.
You have to want and expect for it to work to have any affect. If you go in to it listing and thinking the whole time about how its not going to work and not trying in the least bit to concentrate on the sound, well then its not going to work in the slightest.
When I just started using it I got very weak affects. So I went to the form to see what others did to get it to work for them. Then I followed a simple guide and what do you know. It worked.
What I’ve found in my friends who were the biggest skeptics is they didn’t follow all the directions on how to get it to work fully. But after myself and some other friends explained to them the full process on how to get the full affects. It worked like a charm.
Heres a link to the instructions I followed.
http://www.i-doser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1158
Good luck to all of you trying for the first time.
And skeptics… Learn to say your opinion without sounding like a pretentious douche bag.
(Really makes you look stupid.
I’ve tripped on seven grams of mushrooms (fully dried), and now I can occasionally relax and just make things melt in my own head well after doing that. It’s hard to relax after doing that kind of trip though and 7 is not something to do unless you are a ballsy kind of person, and even then I would say “don’t”. No Cd needed whatsoever. I’ll grab a pair of headphones and see what’s up anyhow. No plans on buying it.
To clarify “well after”.. I mean months later, not hours.
Yeah 7 grams is good. My best was 1/2 ounce. I bought an oz bag, ate half and split the other half between 2 friends. We were monsters for quite some time. And yes, I know what you mean about being able to self-induce a mnor trip, Very handy. As for I-Doser, I’ve only tried Peyote, and it was pretty amazing. With no foreknowledge of what peyote does, I felt myself relaxing and “sort-of” falling asleep. I could feel myself twitching alot (which my wife informs me I do every time I fall asleep), and i could feel myself REM-ing. Yes, I could feel my eyeballs REM-ing as i dreamed but i remained fully awake, and could even describe what was happening. Very crazy dreams. During one of the few cogent moments I had during the trip, I recalled the line from the Matrix: “Ever feel like you don’t know whether you are asleep or awake?” “Yeah, all the time. It’s called Mescaline”. I didn’t experience any OEVs, but the CEVs were off the wall. Left with a good body stone as the track faded out, lasted maybe two minutes after that.
This is bullshit and you people are idiots. No offense. Brainwaves are not tied into specific drugs. This entire this is based on bullshit. Brainwaves are associated with different states, but not different ‘highs’. Do some research and stop being suckers.
Hand of God felt incredible. Even if it is a placebo, it’s still some of the best noise music I’ve ever heard. It becomes melodic after awhile.
I got all of them from a buddy a few days ago and have been trying them out, and I can honestly say they work to a certain extent. It truly is something that takes time, that your brain must adjust to, and that you have to be willing to let work. It’s just like the cinema or the theater, without that “willing suspension of disbelief”, it won’t entertain you. The same goes for i-doser. If you go into it thinking, “This isn’t gonna do anything, what a waste.” Well guess what? It won’t work.
Some are stronger than others. I did the peyote one, and it truly had an effect on my body. I felt my heart beating faster, I started to drift into that semi-conciousness you have right before sleep, and I had some twitching of muscles. I also am fond of one called Cliff Hanger. It says something like “Imagine you are on the precipice, about to fall off but you don’t.” And while listening to that, I became very sweaty and clammy, I got really tense, and it was really fun. It works.
Placebo or not, I don’t know. But it does work.
The medicinal background behind the theory presented is valid, it has been documented in several laboratory tests that brainwave entrainment is possible. There are several x-factors effecting the success of inducing a desired state of mind including whether or not someone can stay focused on the trac for long enough to stimulate a response. I would say that these are obviously safer than the actual drugs themselves for those people that need a mind altering experience. If you have any knowlege of physiology I would recomend that you research the topic on pubmed or medline, there you can see that there is some medical legitimacy behind these claims. How much legitimacy i’m not sure but it is interesting.
I tried it today and ive got to say, its crap, i was dying for it to work and not a sausage..
I would be very pissed off if id bought a load.
Ive also been reading the other comments about when it works: only when you are listening to it?? that seems a bit poor considering you have to be in a relaxed state, in bed, in the dark and such experiences like lsd and speed cant possibly be experienced like that.
I dont understand it and i dont think it works but i so wish it would….
Most pissed off……
I tried I-Doser and luckily it works for me very well. It is not placebo effect! Binaural beats are real! I also proved myself wrong because I had doubt that it will work but after I tried it, I was impressed. The effects that you get from I doser arent exactly the same as the real drug. When I did alcohol, I actually did lose some balance, I felt very light, and I got a strong appetite for food. I didnt feel ‘drunk’ though. It clearly changed the way I felt though. Marijuana made me feel a bit high but extremely sleepy.
Well, I think the theory behind it makes sense. The brain can actually be stimulated by certain sound frequencies. About my own experience I can say that some doses worked for me and some didn´t. I tried the Tranquil 1, and after a while I satrted to feel a little drowsy and my eyelids felt rather heavy. Another one that worked, but much less than it was stated by the software makers, was the one called Trip. After a minute or two , I started to feel a little dizzy and lightweighted; but nothing like the lights or visual hallucinations they promised. Just a little increased olfactory and visual sensations, that was all, and the effects faded some 5 or 10 minutes after the dose was done.
But of course, I think the effects depend on many factors, such as the person´s disposition to relax and listen to the sounds, the absence of distractions (no gaming or chatting while playing the files), and perhaps more important being open to try new things, and not protect yourself behind a skeptic mask (though i´m naturally skeptic myself) when the truth is that you´re scared as shit that this junk may really work
Hey, Th3_uN1Qu3 of DiGiTALZoNE here. This stuff got posted at our forum a while ago by a fellow mod, and first things first i gotta say that getting these sound files for free is the right thing to do. I-Doser is based on the SBaGen binaural wave generator, which is open-source software. And they are distributing their product in violation of SBaGen’s license (search around and you will see).
Second, this is not placebo, DEFINITELY. As explained in my report below, i fell asleep listening to a dose and i had some weird dreams.
As for the safety of this, it totally depends on your mental stability. You may experience lucid dreaming or even hallucinations that seem real. Real drugs mess up your body too, this stuff messes with the mind only, but it can still be dangerous. It’s up to you to realize what’s dream and what’s reality. There’s also a warning that the prolonged use of binaural beats can induce photosensitive epilepsy in susceptible people, please take it seriously and use this stuff in moderation, as if you would a recreational drug.
Here’s the report, originally posted on our forum:
I browsed the net a lil and then went to bed at 5am. Hey, it’s going to be Sunday so no biggie. I remembered i wanted to try some Idoser so i got my lappy and put White Crosses on.
I laid on my back in bed, with my lappy on my chest - a sweet lil Toshi Portege 4010, kinda old but gets 5 hours with the second battery installed and has all i need from a portable compy and it was really cheap - with my headphones on. I think i listened to like half of it with no real effect, just feeling a little spaced out. Then i fell asleep - bad thing to do.
Now, you have to know that probably it was just me. I have a history of photo-induced epilepsy, i had seizures when i was a kid due to some cartoons, and i had them like one every few months from age 5 to age 9. I had been under treatment till age 13 (i’m 16 now), when i was considered cured as my brainwave scans were all okay. I was told to sleep well, avoid drinking coffee and to drink alcohol in moderation. I don’t like coffee, but i sometimes drink a bit too much alcohol but never got dead drunk, so that’s fine. I’ve read that these binaural beats may cause epilepsy to susceptible people, although the chances are rare. Knowing this, i decided to take my chances though. I didn’t have a seizure because of this stuff, not even a single symptom, but some bizarre stuff happened indeed. Read below.
I fell asleep listening to it and started having an almost lucid dream. In fact, how can i say, parallel dreams. I remember taking my laptop out and putting White Crosses on (yes, i actually thought i did that inside the dream), and i was feeling bad. Like when i was little and was just about to have a seizure. Then i dreamt about running to my mother to confort me, but that was “inside that dream” too, so i tried to wake up. I took my phone out and tried to play a game on it, but it was of no use. Then i remember rubbing my eyes and running to my mom again. I told her i wasn’t feeling well, that i was very dizzy, that it happens every now and then, but that i’m going to be okay now.
And when i said “i’m gonna be okay”, that’s when i actually woke up. I felt my laptop on my chest, opened it and hit a key without even opening my eyes, when i noticed the screen light up i opened my eyes. I made sure that was the real physical me, and that this is my nice and small laptop. I put on some rap music and remembered the phone thing. I reached for the phone - it was in the exact same place i put it when i went to sleep. I threw my eyes at the door to my room - it was closed. Mom’s probably sleeping now.
So i have been imagining all this while under the influence of White Crosses. I fell into a dream, only to wake up in another dream. That has happened to me before, without listening to any particular stuff, so it was that i’m susceptible to this kind of thing. It’s not a pleasant feeling at all, and from now on i know. No falling asleep on White Crosses or other powerful doses. I’ll continue experimenting with this stuff though.
I had decent results with i-doser and I was a sceptic.
Let me try answering a few of the voices raised above:
1) Does it work?
A: Binaural audio HAS to work. Many years back i had seen an article about a Tantric (Saint) in Japan. He had many disciples who went week after week to meet this guy. The Jap cops found him to be a major fraud who was into other shitty business; what they were clueless about was how he got so many disciples. They checked everything, no success with drugs. Finally someone checked a tape of one of his prayer sessions. They analysed it and VOILA… the recorded prayers were layered over Binaural sound. They edited the prayer and played only the Binaural part. I can still remember my feeling… it was scary scary sound.
2) Placebo?
A: No. I don’t think so. Why not? See below.
3) Why restful state of mind and lying down and all that shit, when a real drug doesn’t need all that?
A: The real drug ACTUALLY alters you chemical structure. There are ACTUAL changes happening inside you. We, as mortal human beings, don’t have control over the chemical composition of our blood. We cannot manipulate it. A drug can; and easily. Thats why its a straight out trip. Whereas, the i-doser works through sounds stimulating brain waves. And we have a more direct control with our brain than with our blood stream. We can forcefully start thinking and analyzing so that our brain remains occupied and unaffected by stimulus. I can argue on the same defense that you can quell down a marijuana trip the same way. Thats the reason why the relaxed state requirement. Oh by the way, it is actually difficult to relax your brain, thats why meditation is so niche.
4) How are the trips?
A: Not bad actually. Like a few people had mentioned; you feel REMs. Oh yeah, really thats freakish. Rapid Eye Movement they say happens only during dreams. So this has to be something. And weird dreams, dreams that you can feel and experience; but unfortunately, I couldn’t remember them. A creepy stuff happened when I actually heard someone shout in my dream, and the sound just dissolved into the binaural audio. I swear i could feel that shout just melting into the sound through the headphones.
That said, the trips are really not all that great when compared to the real stuff. For example, their DMT trip promised cosmos and planets and all bull crap and I didnt see any of that. But the trip was good. Acid trip was a load of face twitching and real fun.
So there, now its upto you to make whatever of it. Try it, its fun, and quite effective, like their Calm ME. That made me feel good through the day, and trust me it was a rather nasty day that. Placebo? Why should I care when it actually worked. All you sceptics get me something else (another placebo even) to make me feel good, I will take it.
This is a load of crap, I’ve done LSD and it’s on a whole other level to this so called LSD dose, it makes you feel a bit buzzy because it’s a constant droning sound so you feel a little weird after, but other than that it bears no resemblence at all to the real thing. It’s just to trick little yank kids who think it’s “totally real” and “life changing”. It’s crap full stop.
Ok I know for a fact these work but of course not as well as the real thing. Here is my concern what about killing brain cells I feel like it is possible after I did a few of them I noticed I was going a lot slower than normal and this was hours afterwards of course today after stating I would not do them again for fear of killing brain cells I wonder if there could be any long term effects.
I CAN’T STOP USING I-DOSER
HELP!!!
binaural waves are real u stupid fucks. u guys who say its a placebo are stupid. what does it matter if its a placebo if it works. and plus u non believers are believing that its a placebo and therefore u dont feel anything ,, ur “double placebo(ing)”
Hi i tried i-doser yesterday with my friends. i tried marijuana after that white crosses and reset. i didnt listen them to the end - marijuana 5% , white crosses 9% , reset 25%.I’m wondering is something is going to happen if i listen them one after another without using reset between them ( and without listen them to the end) becouse today i have a little headace and i’m wondering is it from i-doser
sorry for my bad english
