In the last two decades, at least 8 mass poisonings have occurred worldwide at the hands of unsafe prescription drugs. The ingredient responsible is known as diethylene glycol, a syrupy solvent used in antifreeze. The solvent has been loaded into many different forms of medication, from cough syrup to injections, and it is extremely deadly. While it has been found in drugs coming from China lately, the latest mass poisoning has occurred in Panama where 365 deaths have been attributed to the faulty medications. The US has warned drug companies in the country to be especially vigilant for this solvent, it is still being mixed in in other parts of the worlds in an effort to save money.

While the US government is doing everything they can to diminish the possibilities of this happening here, you have to still be alert. I know the practice of buying medication over the internet is becoming extremely popular, and buying from places like Canada offer cheaper alternatives to American pharmacies. If you are getting your drugs over the internet, I think you are crazy. This is just one case of a potentially dangerous prescription drugs, and I assure you that there are others. You have no way of knowing the source of most of the drugs on these websites, and to take medication obtained that way is the same as picking a pill up off the street and swallowing it. Who knows where it’s been? I know saving money is great, but not at the expense of the health of you and your family! Buy from reputable pharmacies!

Scientists have been studying a concept known as binaural beats since the late 1800’s. Binaural beats are defined as a composition of two distinct tones that differ in frequencies by between one hertz and twenty hertz (a different tone in each ear, so headphones are required). When these tones are converted to electrical signals inside the brain, it is possible that the state of the listeners consciousness can be altered by the differing impulses. Many experiments of this nature have shown that listeners tend to become more relaxed by the test tracks of binaural beats, but some listeners reported strong changes in their consciousness. They compared the sensation to that of being on different kinds of drugs. Some even reported hallucinations.

In the recent past, websites have begun to offer complete collections of binaural beats for listeners looking to get “high” on the musical tracks. One such service is I-Doser. I-Doser provides different tracks or CD’s of the binaural beats that can be downloaded for a price. Each of these tracks has been created by the musicians/programmers at I-Doser. Each track is named after a type of drug or a type of high, and the track is supposed to bring the listener to a similar state as that drug would. The website even boasts about a track it has created called “Crystal Meth” that is supposed to replicate the sensory experience of that particular drug. I-Doser even claims that the people who created were thoroughly scared by this track and experienced hallucinations, sweating, and other reactions similar to the drug. All the tracks on I-Doser are said to be completely safe, though past experiments have shown that unregulated binaural beats can trigger epilepsy in some people. I-Doser states that their tracks can be used to completely replace recreational drugs, and even notes very subtley that it can complement them. The duration of the effects triggered by these beats is different in everyone, and depends on how quickly your brain reverts back to its normal state.

Will these tracks work for you? I-Doser makes the claim that there are three categories of people: Susceptible, Originally Unsusceptible, and Immune. They reccomend that you download their free program that comes with test tracks in order to find out if you fall into the susceptible category. As for personal experience, I have none. I haven’t actually tried these binaural beats for myself, so I reall can’t speak as to how well they work. While I don’t think that it is wise to mess around with your states of consciousness, I do see this as a nice alternative to illegal drugs. The FAQ at I-Doser even proclaims that the beats have helped drug users kick their addictions. I don’t buy into that because drugs are a physical addiction and I would think that drug users would still go through withdrawal. I am sure everyone has heard the weight that most students put on during their freshman year called freshman fifteen.  Unfortunately, it looks like I have put on the freshman fourty.  I look and the mirror and I can’t believe I am so FAT!  Who would have thought that I, the varsity athlete in high school, would suddenly be hard pressed to find a diet.  Lucky for me, I have had a site bookmarked for a long time.  It pretty much outlines the workout plan that I am going to get on as soon as finals are over.

If you clicked the link above, you will find that it directs you to the Navy Seals qualification website.  That’s my training regimen!  You might think its insane to try and follow something designed for the fittest people in the world but I have actually been on it before.  If you work up to it and stay disciplined, anyone can keep up with this workout.  I actually skip the swimming part, mainly because I don’t have access to a pool.  I am very knowledgable about subjects pertaining to nutrition so if anyone has any questions I would be more than happy to try and be helpful!
