Monday Melee 5/14
1. The Misanthtropic: Name something (about humanity) you absolutely hate.
I hate hypocrisy. I just don’t have the patience for it anymore. You see it everywhere you turn your head these days. I guess it doesn’t
help with attention shifting towards the upcoming election, but even people you think you can trust always seem to show their hypocritical side eventually. Maybe everyone has this in them, but I still like to think that I only preach things that I live by, or try to live by. While I don’t mean to categorize, since there are people who have proven that they are fair and decent, it just seems like the hypocrisy is so prevalent each and every day.
2. The Meretricious: Expose something or someone that’s phony, fraudulent or bogus.
The man that is driving me crazy at the moment is Rush Limbaugh. I can’t stand the guy. All he does is complain and make fun of liberals, while contributing nothing to society or the political arena he is so critical of. Not to mention the guy is a blatant racist who never seems to get the FCC on his case. Quotes about Obama: “Halfrican American”, “The Donovan McNabb of Congress”, “Obama the Magic Negro”. How does he get away with it? Even in the face of Imus and Opie and Anthony. The funny thing is, I was going to do this on Rush and Al Sharpton, but I checked Mark’s post and I decided I’d let him have his shot at the Rev.
3. The Malcontent: Name something you’re unhappy with.
You know, for once I don’t really have anything that’s bothering me. I’m home from college, I have nothing tying me down, and there is no pressure. Not to mention my grades are still sky high. (law school here I come :P) I do have to get my wisdom teeth out in the next few weeks. That won’t be much fun.
4. The Meritorious: Give someone credit for something and name it if you can.
I have to give my mom credit for always being there for me. I don’t think I did enough for her on Mother’s Day. Really both my parents are great. They give me everything I need and are always here to help me when I need them, as independent as I pretend to be.
5. The Mirror: See something good about yourself and name it.
I manage my time well. I was proud of myself for being able to handle exam week without missing a beat on my blog, or with my girl friend. Now that’s productivity! Fine, I admit I didn’t do much studying…
6. The Make-Believe: Name something you wish for.
I wish… I could take a trip to just about anywhere. I want to go to the Carribean, the Adirondacks, Alaska, Europe, Australia, and a million other places. I just want to do something out of the ordinary.
Now it’s your turn.
